Research Paper #2

Final Thesis : The media's specific coverage of athletes using drugs in professional baseball challenges the defintion and credibility of the sport and has changed the fans's reaction to the way they view professional baseball and the athletes involved.

The necessary steps in my argument are the vast array of athletes and their specific experiences that opened up baseball to performance enhancing drugs. Also, much controversy over Barry Bonds and his whole steroid escapade that seems to have an end in sight. These athletes have changed the face of the game and the way the game is played.

The types of sources I am mostly looking at are online news articles and academic journals because the steroid era in baseball is recent and books are hard to obtain that explains the effect of steroids in the game. Also, a lot of this news is on going presently, therefore the best way to get up to date information is through online news sources.

One interesting fact that I have learned during this time period is that Bonds did knowingly take steroids although he confessed to the grand jury that he didn't. He is presently getting indicted with possibility of 30 years in jail. Sucks.
